Gallery

Photo and video library in one place

Gallery is a media browser for Android users who want to view and organize photos and videos rather than rely on a basic viewer. It groups media by folders and dates, helping you find a particular album or a recent image in a larger collection. The Productivity listing may suit people who regularly browse, sort or show media on their phone.

Tools for sorting and viewing

The app includes ways to arrange media using folder, date and tag information. It can also display image details such as EXIF, XMP and IPTC metadata, which may be useful if you want to check information recorded with a photo. Slideshow options provide another way to review a set of images, with transitions available to vary how they appear.

Privacy and extra utilities

Gallery offers a PIN-protected area for hiding selected media, intended for users who want an additional layer of privacy when sharing a device. The reference information also describes an after-call screen with options such as setting a reminder or sending a photo reply. These features go beyond simply opening pictures, though they may matter more to some users than others.

What to weigh before trying it

Its range of organizing and viewing tools may be useful if your phone holds many photos or videos. If you only need a straightforward viewer, the extra options may not be necessary. The public figures offer a quick indication of how widely it has been used, but they do not determine whether it fits your needs: Gallery Photos & Videos is the developer, the app has a 4.19 rating from 90,345 ratings, and it has 5,000,000+ installs.
